2-3 Jun (Thu-Fri), Porto's Baixa Disctrict | 4-5 Jun (Sat-Sun), Serralves

The 13th edition of Serralves em Festa takes place on June 4-5 2016, during 40 hours non-stop - from 8am on Saturday morning to midnight on Sunday. It’s Portugal’s biggest contemporary cultural event and one of the largest in Europe, with hundreds of activities occurring in various parts of the Serralves Foundation and also in several zones in Porto’s Baixa district. Over the years it has become a must-see event for many thousands of Portuguese and foreign visitors.
The 2016 edition of Serralves in Festival will be attended by the President of the Republic, Professor Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who will visit the festival on June 5, Sunday, at 11:00 am.
The programme includes proposals that illustrate the interaction between the visual arts and performing arts, in a close and integrated relationship with the ongoing activities in Serralves Museum and Park. The activities span the fields of Performance Art, Music, Dance, Contemporary Circus, Theatre and Cinema, and Photography, as well as an extensive programme of workshops and guided tours.

The theme of Serralves em Festa 2016 is "Worlds Together" - which exemplifies the spirit of this annual celebration of the arts and culture: presenting the work of artists from around the world, who during these 40 hours gather together to offer an authentic lesson on intercultural coexistence. Serralves em Festa shows us how we can live together.

As in previous years, Serralves em Festa welcomes the participation of the local and national community, and also artists from around the world - establishing partnerships with other cultural, social, educational and artistic entities of Porto and Portugal. The Festa once again continues beyond the doors of Serralves and presents projects in Porto’s Baixa district, in partnership with Porto Municipal Council, through PortoLazer.
