Alice Guerreiro, a third year Theatre student in Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP), presents A Leoa na Cozinha [The Lioness in the Kitchen], created from Mia Couto’s novel Confession of the Lioness. In the novel, women’s rights are broached in the context of a village in North Mozambique. The performance questions if, nowadays, those same rights are not also under threat and, who knows, even endangered in Portugal.
