MANOEL DE OLIVEIRA AND THE PORTUGUES CINEMA 2. FREEDOM! (1970-1990)

Manoel de Oliveira and the Portuguese Cinema: 2. Freedom! is the second part of a cycle of three exhibitions dedicated to Oliveira's extraordinary personal archive, which is entirely housed at Serralves. Following on from the first exhibition, which focused on the director's film production during the Estado Novo regime (1930-1970) subtitled A Bem da Nação (For the Nation's Sake), this second stage focuses on the films made by Oliveira between 1970 and 1990, in line with the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the 1974 revolution, under the theme of Freedom.
