Hailing from Trinidad, Fimber Bravo is one of the most influential steel pan musicians in contemporary music: from the “black power” protests in the 1960s to fusion with West African stars in the 70s, 80s and 90s, and now integrating the instrument in mindblowing improvisations in Western pop and electronic music. Internationally renowned, Bravo lent his talents with the steel pan to a fantastic array of artists, such as Winifred Atwell, Sun Ra Arkestra, Django Django and Hot Chip.
