Conjunto Corona combines two of the biggest names in Portuguese hip hop music from the North – the producer dB and rapper Logos. In their first albums, Corona take us through the worlds of fame, decadence, entrepreneurship, pimping, blackmail, key figures from the nightlife and illicit business of Porto’s Baixa zone. Unfortunately (and despite their pro-active outlook) things didn’t work out so well for the duo. After their foray playing in hostess clubs in 2016 (chronicled in their critically-acclaimed "Cimo de Vila Velvet Cantina"), business circumstances and gentrification of Porto’s Baixa zone pushed the group into a different ecosystem: the outskirts of Greater Porto. And so, the fourth album of the original members of the group, "Santa Rita Lifestyle", is a glorification of Valongo, Ermesinde, Gaia, Trofa, Santo Tirso, Gondomar, Vila do Conde and even Rio Tinto. "Santa Rita Lifestyle" is the religion where masses are replaced by trips to petrol stations in a Honda Civic at two in the morning to drink some coffee and ride around the rotunda at top speed while their "shoes are being polished". "Santa Rita Lifestyle" is the blood of Corona that will be shed onto us - now and forever, amen.
