RYOJI IKEDA: MICRO – MACRO [PAVILION]

Ryoji Ikeda was invited to design a temporary pavilion in the Park, as part of an ongoing practice of inviting artists to create and install works in Serralves' natural heritage. The project has been extended to other participants, including the architect, Nuno Brandão Costa. Ikeda sought to provide an intense cinematic experience, creating an immersive environment in the pavilion that combines architecture, installation and music, comparable to that of a symphony. The artist says that this project is the culmination of 18 years of work.
