The sound installation and performance Low Intersection of Benign Machines materialises through a series of ceramic objects, accompanied by an audio-sonic system of auscultation. The seven elements - reminiscent of a realm of approximation to the natural, perched on a white mantle - are actively listened to, processed and amplified for an acoustic universe of echoes and reverberations. Maria Miguel Pratas and Miguel A. Ribeiro are a duo of young artists who focus on the connection between the plastic characteristics of different materials and the potential of sound and its resonances in the body. They work essentially in installation and performance formats.
