In 2018, the British producer Rian Treanor attended an artistic residency at the studio of Nyege Nyege Tapes (Uganda), which resulted not only in his acclaimed File Under UK Metaplasm, but the collaboration with Acholi violinist, Ocen James. Through intense improvisational work, they have jointly developed one of the most exciting sound crossroads of recent times, taking the roots of traditional Ugandan culture through different dimensions of noise, computer music and radical UK rave. Released this year, Saccade is the first album resulting from this curious union of two very different universes.
