Lead vocalist of the historic band, GNR, and a major figure in Portuguese music, Rui Reininho is as much his own man as he is unusual. After releasing Companhia das Índias in 2008, a decade later he released 20.000 Éguas Submarinas, a record that takes a more experimental approach. Produced by Paulo Borges, they jointly devised a 2-year voyage to the ends of seas sailed before, at a walking pace, trot, gallop, fluttering speed and flight, as if surging upwards from deep coral reefs, but not as deep as the exercise of liberation that has already been revealed.
