As the title indicates, this exhibition was constructed as if it were a letter, based on the principle that all exhibitions are epistles, whose recipients are everyone and no one in particular. The collection in question - the BPP Collection, of the former Banco Privado Português - includes many works by artists who are already present in the Serralves Collection, thereby contributing to their study and in-depth presentation of several Portuguese and foreign artists considered to be key figures in the art scene between the 1960s and the present day.

This collection also enriches the overall Serralves Collection since it includes artists who are not present in the latter but who establish an exemplary dialogue with the artists whose works we have been collecting.

The exhibition also provides an insight into the shared history between the BPP Collection and the Serralves Collection, since Serralves Museum’s first artistic directors had a close relationship with the BPP Collection’s acquisition committee, suggesting the incorporation of certain works and ensuring that they were deposited at Serralves.
