The invitation made to Ryoji Ikeda to design a temporary pavilion in Serralves Park is aligned with the continued practice of inviting artists to create and install works in Serralves' natural heritage. The project extends to other participants, in particular the architect Nuno Brandão Costa.

Ryoji Ikeda reveals his intention to provide an intense cinematic experience, creating an immersive environment in the pavilion, that combines architecture, installation and music, comparable to a symphony. He aims to achieve visual purity, reminiscent of metaphysics or esotericism. The artist refers to this project as the culmination of 18 years of work.
